The Gambian leader, President Adama Barrow has ascended to the Organization of Islamic Corporation Chairmanship role in what appears to be a successful event which attracted hundreds of delegates across the globe.

Know nfor his peaceful and democratic credentials, President Barrow made the country proud by dilating well on Pertinent world issues that are critically affecting humanity at large currently.

The President emphasized the need for dialogue and mediation in conflict zones to enhance unity and peace around the globe.

Symbolizing love and smooth relationship between Gambians, the country’s former Vice Presidents including the main opposition leader, Ousainou Darboe together with other opposition figures graced the auspicious event.

Speaking to the press shortly after the opening ceremony of the summit, the country’s former Vice President under Jammeh, Dr Isatou Njie Saidy expressed optimism that President Barrow will make significant impact in his tenure as the organization’s new Chairman.

“I am very optimistic that before his tenure expires, he will achieve all his goals if not all. President Barrow’s Chairmanship Is a pride for the nation and I am glad we are currently dealing with critical world issues here” VP Njie Saidy said with a happy tone.

For The Gambia Democratic Congress leader, Hon Mama Kandeh, he urged Gambian to always unite for a common purpose arguing that whenever such need arises, we should put our political differences aside and come together as Gambians for a common purpose.

While addressing the summit, President Adama Barrow, Chair of the OIC, reaffirmed The Gambia’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in conflict zones through diplomatic solutions.

 

He emphasized the need to address the longstanding conflicts in Palestine and Gaza, urging Member States to take decisive action for a just and lasting solution.

The Gambian leader, also commended South Africa’s legal action against Israel and pledged to implement strategies to foster unity and problem-solving among OIC Member States during his chairmanship.
