Firebrand politician and member of opposition United Democratic Party, Momodou MC Cham Jnr has slammed the Presidential Advisor, Dou Sanno over his recent remarks against the KMC Mayor and UDP’s leader.

According to Mr Cham, the Advisor lacks the moral authority to talk about opposition-headed councils like KMC, when the NPP-led councils are in disarray which purportedly results in the absconding of their sitting Chairman in Kuntaur.

“KMC is ahead of NPP-led councils in every aspect as NPP councils are currently struggling more than any other councils in the country. For the very fact that Dou will go this low to make unrealistic comments about the state of affairs in KMC exposes his ignorance and lack of understanding for his job” Cham argued.

He insisted Sanno should be busy at the Presidency advising the President on policy and pressuring matters in the country rather than making empty rhetorics that are less important to the welfare of the masses.

“For Kerewan, it appears that an area council does not exist there. The Basse area council went bankrupt to the extent that they could not pay their hardworking staff. The government intervened to bail them out. Kuntaur Area Council Chairman allegedly on the run. With all these happening before your very eyes, what can the NPP say about opposition councils” he asked.

Cham challenges his neighbourhood friend, Dou to focus on his job and advise the President for the betterment of the masses as the country is failing under their leadership.

“You lack the moral authority to talk about Darboe after 22 years of telling Gambians that he is an exceptional leader who can take the country to the dreamland. What Darboe did for Gambians outweighed money and that’s freedom. You should be thankful to Darboe instead of criticizing him as it’s out of his sacrifice you became an adviser, today. Tell your President about the water and electricity crisis, inflation, and unemployment and stop making empty rhetorics that have no impact on the masses” Cham said.

The young prominent politician argued that he was not surprised by Sanno’s remarks insisting that their tour was a huge success and that most precipitated such an unwarranted reaction from Sanno.

“The signs that emanated in 2016 can be clearly noticed in Gambians that they are thirsty for change and we will defeat President Barrow to a landslide in 2026” he confidently stated.

In a political event in Kiang Kolior, Dou picked on the KMC Mayor, saying that Bensouda’s tenure is marred with underperformance and inefficient as he had not made any transformative move since his re-election.
