Coach Abdoulie Bojang shows confidence in the readiness of his team as they gear up to face the host nation, Ghana, in an anticipated showdown on Tuesday.

Addressing the media in a pre-match press session, Bojang emphasized the team’s meticulous preparation and strategic approach.

“We are fully focused on the upcoming match. It will require more than just tactical knowledge to defeat the host nation. We are also mentally prepared for the challenge. There is no room for complacency, especially after setting such high standards for ourselves,” Bojang asserted.

Ismaila Manneh, Gambia’s winger, echoed the team’s optimism, highlighting their determination to rectify mistakes from their previous encounter against Benin and capitalize on goal-scoring opportunities. “We’ve acknowledged our errors as a team, and, with guidance from our coaches, we’ve worked hard in training to correct them.

Our motivation is high, particularly after our meeting with the Minister and also the Head of Delegation ahead of the Ghana match,” Manneh expressed. He further noted the inspirational role played by World Cup star Adama Bojang in boosting team morale.

The clash between Gambia and the hosts is scheduled for Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium, kicking off at 8 p.m
