The National Assembly Member for Badibou Central, Hon. Sulayman Saho, has warned the Deputy Speaker against making blank statements about his leader, Hon. Ousainou Darboe.

Hon. Njie launched an offensive against the UDP leader, accusing him of nepotism and weaponizing state institutions to oppress opponents during his time with the government.

In an audio message, Hon. Saho deemed Njie’s remarks irresponsible and said he should learn to distinguish UDP’s stance issues from Darboe’s position.

“Your ill-guided statements against Darboe manifest your lack of respect for the national dialogue.

How can we curb political tensions and intolerantness within our politics when you are bent on making malicious and fallacious remarks against the leadership of the biggest opposition party in the country?” he asked.
The opposition parliamentary whip insisted that Njie is a political sycophant who ponders only his egocentric interests.

“Seedy Njie, you should be the last person to defend APRC in recent times after abandoning them during their difficult period for personal gains. APRC made you who you are today, but you chose to betray them during their most difficult period for self-aggrandisement,” he alleged.

Saho went on: “Your remarks do not promote unity and reconciliation; rather, they are tantamount to enhancing hate and grudges within the country. Enough is enough, and I want you to immediately stop making blank remarks against Darbo. None of us, the opposition Parliamentarians, go to such lengths with the President. It’s irresponsible and irrational of you to make it a habit of frequently attacking Darboe without reason.

You should be arrested and detained for trying harder to subvert the will of the Gambian people in 2016, but for further promotion of hate and intolerance through your wording against opposition in the country in recent times”.

The parliamentarian advised the Deputy Speaker to be cautious in his wording against Darboe for the sake of peace and to stop making misleading comments about a man who sacrificed everything for today’s new Gambia.

Saho further challenged Njie on his accusation of Darboe’s nephew arresting him on Darbo’s order, arguing the former’s reason for not going further with the case suggested he was wrong and untruthful in his assertion.

Surprisedly, Hon. Saho said Seedy Njie and his cohort are spread among parties in the country, including the UDP, to propel their interest in taking leadership of the country someday.
“The aftermath of the so-called national dialogue is marred with injustice, rights violations, and irresponsible sentimental wording from the ruling party members.

This is why, from the get-go, I was against this dialogue because the leadership of the NPP has no sense of purpose to unite us as a country. The sweetest of goat’s milk should not warrant you being called a billy goat, Uncle. Give the required respect to  Darboe.” The Central Badibou Parliamentarian

stated.
