Deputy Speaker and executive member of the ruling NPP, Hon Seedy Njie has launched an offensive against the UDP leader accusing him of nepotism and weaponization of institutions during his time with the government.
His remarks did not go down well with the opposition UDP’s new darling MC Cham Jnr, who argued that Njie should be the last person to talk about Darboe considering his tragic track record in the country’s political history.

In an audio message, Cham said Deputy Speaker’s remarks manifested the ruling party’s bitterness toward UDP emphasizing the country should be ruled on facts and Justice.
“Seedy lacks the moral authority to talk about Darboe after putting the country into a political turmoil which caused lives. And the powers he enjoys today came out of Darboe’s sacrifice to the nation. Njie should continue his silence to preserve the little integrity left with him because Gambians will never listen to him” Cham argued.
He insisted that the Deputy Speaker’s allegations against Darboe of being nepotistic in his appointments had contradicted facts before his own very eyes.
“The current foreign Minister was Ambassador under Darboe, Gibril Sallah was also an Ambassador, among others who shared neither tribe nor blood with Darboe. Again, who is surprised, Seedy Njie is notorious for misleading the public by distorting facts for political gains. It’s time for him to reform himself and respect the office he holds then, being a propagandist who always wants to satisfy his principal” Cham stated.

Cham went on: “Since Darboe left government, this country is sinking day-by-day and the onus lies on the President to resolve the current crisis facing the country. If our release about the injustice meted to ‘No to Alliance’ upsets you, then you will continue to be bitter because UDP is a party of truth and Justice” Cham warned.
He reiterated that DS Njie should do himself a favor and zip his mouth because he is a political liability to the country.
