The National President of the opposition party United Democratic Party (UDP), Aja Yamundaw Yarboe has urged the Gambian leader to relinquish power and be grateful after serving beyond an unforeseen period.

During a rally in Farafenni yesterday, Madam Yarboe argued that the crowd that attended the meeting suggested to her that UDP never lost the last election in the North Bank arguing that the election was marred with inducement and foreign voting.

“The crowd that showed up in our today’s meeting clearly suggests to me that UDP never lost the election here in this region. The only reason why we are not occupying the political seat here was as a result of foreign voters who came from Casamance and Senegal to take part in our election. President Barrow should relinquish power and hand it over to Ousainou Darboe” Madam Gaye Yarboe said.

She insisted that enough is enough and it’s time for President Barrow to be grateful and relinquish power after serving seven years despite a failed three years promise.

“Adama Barrow should be grateful and leave power. Enough is enough he should relinquish power. Before coming to office, he said he would serve for only three years but later changed his mind to settle for five years. Now, five is not enough for him as he went for ten years and still wanted more. Barrow should be grateful and leave power, enough is enough. He cannot steer the affairs of the country as we all witnessed it” she argued.

Madam Yarboe further stated that since Darboe and Co. left the Barrow administration, nothing has been working in the government arguing that the President’s much talked about Brussel pledge was never realized.

“He (Barrow) said he has money from the donor partners which upon arrival even cats will feel it. Ask him where that money is because we could not find any since the departure of Darboe and Co. from the government” she alleged.

The UDP National President warns the Gambian leader against criticizing UDP Insisting that his party was born out of UDP.

“Adama Barrow was leaning on UDP until he formed his own party. He should stop bragging about doing things for UDP as we gave him his current position” Yarboe alleged.

In what appears to be a contradiction, many have argued that it was the UDP leader, Ousainou Darboe who emboldened President Barrow to renege on his three years promise so, Barrow is said to have found it unrealistic for the same party to orchestrate calls for his resignation.
