The Majalis society in The Gambia are planning to converge at a top controversial scholar’s house in Sanchaba next Saturday.
The reason for the convergence is to show solidarity to Imam Bakawsu Fofana over a book written against him by one Sunni author.

According to Alhaige Morrow Sillah of Brikama, the smear against Ba-Kawsu is unfortunate saying anything that is uttered against the controversial Imam is meant for all the Majalis community.
“The book the Sunni author wrote against Ba-Kawsu is meant to belittle and ridicule his reputation. We the sufis and Majalis sons and daughters will gather at his house next Saturday to show solidarity to Imam Fofana and show that we are behind him in his efforts to educate and enlighten people about Islam” he added
Imam Ba-Kawsu Fofana is known for his conflict with recent scholars over his controversial utterances.
In his famous preaching, Imam Fofana said there is no limitation in marriage. He believes men can marry as many women as they can; which is said to be contrary to the sunnah.
